GOW-MAC® Instrument Co. (U.S.A.) was formed in 1935 by Mr. William Gow and Mr. James McFadden to exploit an automotive engine analyzer developed by Mr. Gow. This analyzer utilized a thermal conductivity detector (TCD) and essentially measured the carbon dioxide content of the exhaust gas. This development lead to the manufacturing of various binary gas analyzers; e.g., air in hydrogen, natural vs. manufactured gas, etc. During World War II the Company supplied analyzers to the U.S. Navy.
GOW-MAC® ushered in another new line of process gas analyzers in September 2005, the 1000 Series of trace gas analyzers for nitrogen in argon, nitrogen in helium, and moisture in argon. Relevant applications include air separation plants, argon purification plants, cryogenic truck loading stations, specialty gas laboratories, process control, new line certification, cryogenic steel manufacturing, chemical plants, gas management/monitoring systems, quality control for truck fills & gas cylinders, welding gas management, semiconductor manufacturing, and many more.
With its eye on the future, GOW-MAC® continues to develop innovative detectors and gas analysis instruments for our customers and their always demanding, ever changing applications.
