V-20 thermographic camera serves for contact-less, remote temperature measurement and visualization of its distribution. The camera records infrared radiation that is emitted by all bodies of a temperature above 0K. The device operates within 3-5 µm and a high sensitivity detector (NEDT @20°C:0,05°C) that is produced by our company was used in it. The camera is controlled by means of two microprocessors and 16 bit analog-to-digital conversion was used in it. The measuring data collected in the camera memory is sent typically through USB 2.0 port to a computer. Depending on specificity of the made measurements, user can connect to the camera, one of three types of computers. If the camera is used for laboratory measurements on measuring stands, a traditional PC or laptop is used. In other cases where measurements are made in the field and when a camera is carried from one measuring point to another, it is recommended to use a PALMTOP. It fulfils a role of a display the functionality of which is similar to large viewfinders of VIDEO cameras. In the camera, two measuring ranges in the range of: 10...1500°C were defined. To the temperature scale, colours from the colours palette selected by user are assigned. As a result of a measurement we obtain a data set that is presented in a form of a colour map: a thermogram. The thermogram consists of 57600 measuring points (240 points in 240 lines). User can, after indicating a selected point, read out its coordinates and temperature value.
