Intuitive Software Significantly Reduces Reporting Times with Integrated Tools for Test Data

Jan. 20, 2004 – National Instruments has announced DIAdem 9.0, the newest version of its interactive software for managing, inspecting, analysing and reporting test data. DIAdem provides a unified environment for transforming test data into the information needed to drive engineering decisions. DIAdem imports data from industry-standard databases and file formats such as ASCII, binary and Excel, and can handle datasets with more than 1
billion data points. "DIAdem 9.0 has helped us reduce our overall analysis and reporting times by as much as 90 percent and we are excited about its ease of use, versatility and extensibility," said Damon Chandler, Knowledge Flow Architect with Cummins Engine, an international corporation that designs, manufactures, distributes and services engines and related technologies. "Our DIAdem power user group is continually finding new and exciting ways of applying DIAdem in unexpected areas." Using the unique combination of data management, visualisation, analysis and reporting features in DIAdem 9.0, engineers have the tools they need to extract and analyse their test data quickly and efficiently. The time saved using the integrated tools in DIAdem directly translates into increased productivity and efficient use of resources invested in test data.


New drag-and-drop handling features make accessing test data from a wide range of file and database formats easier than ever, as engineers quickly locate a specific data set out of thousands by using sophisticated filtering and intuitive navigation features. DIAdem includes a built-in Visual Basic Script host that is used to automate repetitive reporting and analysis tasks,saving valuable time. Engineers perform the required analysis by extracting the relevant information from the test data and then generating a Web-ready report, all from within the DIAdem environment.

This combination of overall functionality delivers ease of use and straightforward integration with existing landscapes such as NI LabVIEW, The MathWorks, Inc. MATLAB and Wolfram Research, Inc. Mathematica. DIAdem is ideal for a wide range of industries that involve saving test data to a file or database, including automotive, aerospace and consumer goods.
