A medium scale injection moulding machine which fits easily on your laboratory bench or in a fume cupboard! This machine was developed by DSM Research, it is an upgrade of our famous 3,5 ml micro injection moulding machine and has a max. shot volume of 10 ml of material. The machine can be used in combination with both our successful twin screw micro-compounders. If there is no need to mix materials in the micro compounder the laboratory injection moulding machine can be used separately. Now you can test and evaluate new or expensive materials in very small amounts. Our range of micro processing machines offers solutions to all these problems. The core of this laboratory injection moulding machine consists of a temperature controlled mould housing for mounting of conical shaped moulds and a removable injection unit. The divisible conical shaped moulds are fitted into the housing in such a way that opening during injection is prevented. Melt is injected into the temperature controlled mould, either heated or cooled*, using a plunger powered by compressed air. Holding pressure and time is adjustable to avoid shrinkage of the moulded test sample.The mould is then removed from the machine and opened by hand.The injection unit is easily removable and can thus quickly be filled by either a material melt directly from one of our twin screw micro-compounders or manually with powder or granules. Depending on the mould capacity, several injection cycles can be performed with one barrel load of a 5 ml or 15 ml DSM Research micro-compounder. The standard machine comes with one mould but more moulds can be ordered. Mould-geometry's can be selected from a standard range, including several certified dog bone shaped tensile bars and lzod bars but other geometry's can be produced on request as well.
