14-bit pci digitizer offers deep 128 mega samples dual port acquisition memory - AlazarTech

Montreal, Canada (January 12, 2006) AlazarTech, a manufacturer of high performance, low cost PC Based Instruments, today announced the release of ATS460-128M®, a new, deep memory member of its family of 14 bit, 125 MS/s PCI waveform digitizers.
Acquisition memory on board the ATS460-128M® can optionally be converted to Dual Port Memory for applications in which acquisition cannot be stopped during data transfer to PC memory. To the best of our knowledge, this dual port memory feature is not found on any other waveform digitizer available on the market.
ATS460-128M® provides two simultaneous analog inputs that can each be sampled at rates up to 125 MS/s (one ADC per channel). Each channel has its own 128 Megasamples of on-board acquisition memory buffer. The unit occupies only one half-length PCI slot and consumes less than 14 Watts of power – differentiating itself from other high-speed digitizers on the market.
“Customers involved in RF signal analysis asked us for deep on-board acquisition memory”, stated Muneeb Khalid, President of AlazarTech. “Our engineers responded by developing the ATS460-128M that increases the acquisition memory, but still keeps all the integration-friendly features that customers have come to expect from AlazarTech”.
ATS460-128M® PCI digitizers use FPGA-based digital electronics for control and data processing. AlazarTech’s proprietary HyperDisP® display technology allows the full 128 Megasample long record to be displayed on a computer screen in a matter of seconds – an improvement of many orders of magnitude compared to the competition.
The on-board FPGA can also be customized for OEMs. Customization can include simple control functions, such as extra triggers or trigger enables, simple mathematical functions, such as averaging, and even complex DSP functions such as FIR filters, demodulation and FFT.
OEMs can integrate the ATS460-128M® PCI digitizers into their own systems very easily using the Windows XP/2000/98SE compatible ATS-SDK Software Development Kit. This SDK includes sample programs written in C/C++ and VisualBASIC. A high performance LabVIEW® VI, called ATS-VI, is also available. A Linux driver, ATS-Linux, is also available and supports kernel version up to 2.6.
