Instrumentation specialist Lee-Dickens, has released its first ever range of ATEX approved intrinsically safe relative humidity transmitters, believed to be the only products of their type on the market.

The HP140IS and HP150IS are duct and wall mounting relative humidity transmitters aimed at potentially hazardous or explosive applications in industries such as gas, petrochemical, or bulk solids. Both products are approved to EEx iia IIC T4 Tamb = 70°C for use in Zone 0 conditions. Certificate number Baseefa03ATEX0101X.

The probes, which use a capacitive sensor, operate as two wire transmitters and produce a 4 to 20mA output proportional to 0 to 100% relative humidity, with accuracy <±2.0% for 0 to 95% relative humidity. The sensor is suitable for use in operating temperatures from -10 to +100°C and the electronics from -10 to +70°C

The HP140IS probe and flange are constructed of stainless steel and come fitted as standard with a sintered bronze guard. The HP150IS has a plastic cage as standard and each probe comes with mating connector.

Power supply voltage and interface from the safe area to the transmitter is via approved barriers available from Lee-Dickens.
