Absorptive neutral-density filters provide an alternative to metallic neutral-density filters. They are preferred when elimination of backscatter and back reflections are of particular concern.
Absorptive filters vary in thickness from less than a millimeter to nearly five millimeters, depending on the material and the melt. Since there can be large variations between glass melts, actual thickness and glass material may vary in order to guarantee optical density.
Standard Specification:
Optical Material: Optical Neutral Density Glass Dimension Tolerance : ±0.2mm Wavefront Distortion: 2λ per 25mm Parallelism: <3 arc second Surface Quality: 80-50 scratch and dig Density Tolerance : ±5%
