The MOD-1 plus systems from Halcyonics GmbH were specially developed for high-resolution imaging applications like Atomic Force Microscopy, Scanning Near-Field Optical Microscopy and other Scanning Probe Microscopy applications.

These moderately priced active vibration isolation systems feature compact dimensions and provide better isolation than the isolation achievable with the best and most expensive passive systems. Direct velocity feedback via electromagnetic transducers is used to provide isolation from building vibrations as well as vibration sources placed on the system itself. This means, for example that a sensitive microscope isolated by the system will remain at rest despite forces being applied via the operator's hands. MOD-1 plus systems compensate vibrations in all six degrees of freedom and all have active load location compensation.
All MOD-1 plus based systems come with user-friendly USB interface as a standard. If you connect the system to the USB port on a PC that runs under Windows®, the MOD-User-Software lets you run a technical test of the entire system and activate and deactivate vibration isolation by remote control.
The tabletop unit MOD-1M plus additionally comes with Location software. This software allows the user to perform comparative measurements of the vibration present at various work areas in a laboratory. Therefore, the software enables you to find the best place in which to set up the system to avoid mechanical vibration. An excellent performance of the whole system is thereby guaranteed.
The MOD-2 modular series allows isolation of heavier instruments and is more suitable for integration into existing set-ups.
