Isolated digital I/O solutions extend Advantech’s “one stop shop” for measurement and automation

Cincinnati, Ohio (April 28, 2004) – Advantech Corporation, Industrial Automation Group is proud to announce the 2004 line of complete isolated digital I/O solutions, from 32 channels to 64 channels.

All Advantech PCI cards offer isolated digital input and output channels with protection up to 2,500 VDC, making them ideal for industrial applications where high-voltage isolation is required. In addition, all output channels are able to keep their last values after a hot system reset and provide a channel-freeze function that keeps the current output status unchanged for each channel during operation. Furthermore, most boards support Board ID function that helps engineers easily identify and access each card during hardware and software configuration when multiple cards are installed on the same PC.

With a low-cost of $4.50 per isolated channel, Advantech’s line of digital I/O solutions is positioned very competitively with current I/O providers. In addition to low-cost, all Advantech isolated digital I/O solutions come bundled with Windows DLL drivers, ActiveX that supports the latest Microsoft Visual Basic.NET, C# programming tools and LabVIEW drivers.

Advantech’s isolated digital I/O line consists of the following products:

PCI-1730 – The PCI-1730 cards offers isolated 16 DI and 16 DO channels, TTL-level 16 DI and 16 DO channels, high output driving capacity, high-voltage isolation on isolated I/O channels (2,500 VDC), interrupt capability, wide input (5 ~ 30 VDC) and output (5 ~ 40 VDC) range and board ID.

PCI-1733 – The PCI-1733 offers 32 isolated, bidirectional digital input channels, high-voltage isolation (2,500 VDC), interrupt capacity, wide input range (5 ~ 30 VDC), reverse voltage protection for isolated input channels (up to 24 VDC) and board ID.

PCI-1734 – The PCI-1734 offers 32 isolated digital output channels, high output driving capacity, high-voltage isolation on output channels (2,500 VDC), high sink current on isolated output channels (200 mA/channel), integral suppression diodes for inductive loads, wide output range (5 ~ 40 VDC) and board ID.

PCI-1750 - a 32-channel isolated Digital I/O card with isolated counter function, a unique feature compared with other cards. The PCI-1750 offers 16 isolated DI and 16 isolated DO channels, high voltage isolation on all isolated channels (2,500 VDC), high sink current on isolated output channels (200 mA/channel), supports dry contact or 5 ~ 50 VDC isolated inputs, and interrupt handling.

PCI-1752 – The PCI-1752 offers 64 isolated digital output channels, high-voltage isolation on output channels (2,500 V DC), wide output range (5 ~ 40 VDC), output status read-back, and board ID.

PCI-1754 – The PCI-1754 offers 64 isolated digital input channels (2,500V DC), high ESD protection (2,000 VDC), interrupt capability, wide input range (10 ~ 50 V DC), high over-voltage protection (70 V DC), and board ID.

PCI-1756 – The PCI-1756 offers isolated 32 DI and 32 DO channels, high ESD protection (2,000 VDC), interrupt capability, wide input (10 ~ 50 VDC) and output range (5 ~ 40 V DC), high-voltage isolation on I/O channels (2,500 V DC), high over-voltage protection (70 VDC) and board ID.

MIC-3756 – The MIC-3756 is 3U/6U CompactPCI isolation DIO module. It offers isolated 32 DI and 32 DO channels, high ESD protection (2,000 VDC), interrupt capability, wide input (10 ~ 50 VDC) and output range (5 ~ 40 V DC), high-voltage isolation on I/O channels (2,500 V DC), high over-voltage protection (70 VDC) and board ID.

Advantech’s complete isolated digital I/O product matrix provides the ability for many upgrades. These include existing ISA-bus PCL-730/733/734 users are able to upgrade to PCI-bus PCI-1730/1733/1734 without changing wiring and application programs. Advantech isolated PCI digital I/O solutions are available in PCI and 3U/6U CompactPCI platforms.
