Cincinnati, Ohio - Advantech’s EDG-4508+/4516+ industrial network-based serial device servers provide low-cost solutions for connecting 8 to 16 RS-232/422/485 devices directly to a TCP/IP network.

The EDG-4508+/4516+ offer an easy alternative for connecting devices such as CNCs, PLCs, weigh scales and scanners directly to the Ethernet or Internet. Featuring dual CPUs, the EDG-4508+/4516+ include many advanced features for both local and remote configuration though an easy-to-use utility, V.24 console, or a Web page.

The built-in 4 digital input and output channels offer users added application flexibility. The EDG’s reliability is further enhanced by the ability to support redundant power mechanisms for future installation expansions. The EDG supports 10/100Mbps Ethernet connections for higher bandwidth, lower traffic impact and more networking layout flexibility.

The EDG-4508+/4516+ has robust chassis design, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments. With Tx/Rx LEDs for all ports and LEDs for mode and power on the front panel, the operation, administration and maintenance are all simplified.

The EDG-4508+/4516+ is perfect for applications including industrial or factory automation, SCADA systems, telecommunications, automatic warehouse control, building automation, self-service banking systems and large scale retail systems.
