Cincinnati, Ohio (June 15, 2004) – Advantech Corporation, Industrial Automation Group is proud to introduce the UNO-2052, a 586-grade platform that offers dual CAN 2.0B interface, 8-channel digital I/O and 2-channel thermocouple input functions. The UNO-2052 can be bundled with a built-in Windows® CE operating system and is resistant to vibrations. It is suited to a broad range of CAN applications, such as those in the automotive and factory automation industries.

The Controller Area Network (CAN) serial bus protocol is used in a wide range of embedded and automation control systems. Designed with two CAN 2.0B interfaces, the UNO-2052 is ideal for CAN-based applications that need high-speed transmission and advanced error detection mechanisms.

The UNO-2052 has a built-in Windows® CE operating system, which offers a pre-configured image with optimized on-board device drivers. Microsoft Windows® CE is an advanced real-time embedded operating system which can be installed on a CompactFlash™ disk. If more storage is required, a 2.5” hard disk can be installed with a hard disk extension kit.

The UNO-2052 boasts a fanless design, which protects the system from dust and dirt. This distinctive design allows it to endure harsh environments. Moreover, the UNO-2052 has a hard disk-free design with excellent anti-shock and anti-vibration features. The anti-vibration feature (1G with hard disk, 2G with CF) is available even when the hard disk extension kit is added. Integrated with the CAN 2.0B interface, the UNO-2052 is an obvious choice when designing CAN-based applications.
