ADAM-5510 series now includes Modbus, TCP server, client functions and KW SoftLogic

Cincinnati, Ohio (December 3, 2004)- Advantech Corporation, Industrial Automation Group has extended its selection of PC-based SoftLogic and programmable controllers with five new products in the ADAM-5510KW and ADAM-5510 series. The most powerful new controller is the ADAM-5510EKW/TP, which integrates Modbus/TCP server/client functions and supports KW MULTIPROG® for programming of IEC 61131-3 SoftLogic languages.

The ADAM-5510EKW/TP is a new 8-slot controller in the ADAM-5510KW SoftLogic controller series, which are all equipped with KW’s software runtime engine ProConOS and the MULTIPROG® programming utility. MULTIPROG® complies with the IEC-61131-3 standard, which supports five control languages: Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and Instruction List. The ADAM-5510EKW/TP can work as a Modbus/TCP client to retrieve data from remote I/Os, and Modbus/TCP server to connect with the HMI/SCADA software. Furthermore, it is possible to remotely maintain multiple ADAM-5510EKW/TP controllers by running MULTIPROG® via an Ethernet network.

The second product in the ADAM-5510KW series is the ADAM-5510EKW, an 8-slot controller with Modbus/RTU master and slave functions.

In the ADAM-5510 series of PC-based programmable controllers, Advantech has introduced Ethernet-enabled features. The new 4-slot ADAM-5510/TCP and 8-slot ADAM-5510E/TCP support HTTP server, FTP server, and e-mail alarm functions. These functions can be used to monitor a system via the Internet, acquire data through an FTP connection and send alarms to designated e-mail addresses if a critical situation emerges. Both products also support Modbus/TCP server/client functions.

Another new product in the ADAM-5510 series is the ADAM-5510E, which provides eight I/O slots and offers Modbus/RTU master and slave functions.
