Genetix (www.genetix.com) has announced a 3-colour aQuire dual-laser microarray scanner for detection of GFP, fluorescein and a range of other fluorophores, making it an ideal and versatile system for imaging DNA, protein, cell and tissue arrays.
The standard aQuire scanner is fitted with two lasers (red and green) for simultaneous detection of popular microarray dyes such as Cy3™ and Cy5™. The optional upgrade to the third laser (blue, 488 nm) enables imaging of cell and tissue arrays expressing GPF-tagged proteins or DNA and protein arrays stained with fluorescein (FITC). In addition, the blue laser can be used to image a third, control fluorophore for assessment of spot presence, size and quality in conjunction with the normal two dye labels.
The blue laser, like the red and green lasers, is solid-state and is fitted internally within the normal footprint of the instrument, to save valuable bench space. The blue laser can be fitted at the time of scanner order or retrofitted at a later date. The filter wheel can be fitted with up to 6 emission filters to increase your choice of fluorophores.
Designed to scan all standard size microarray slides (1 x 3 inch; 25 x 75 mm; 26 x 76 mm) including membrane-coated slides, the aQuire laser scanner is the ideal companion to the QArray series of Genetix microarrayers and is the most affordable 3-laser scanner on the market.
