The AltoWave1300TM is a fast swept tunable laser source with 80nm coverage. Its wide tuning, high speed and small form factor make it ideal for OEM use in a variety of test and measurement and sensing applicationsThe AltoWave1300 supports wavelength sweeping over all frequencies defined in the ITU-T G.692 frequency plan in line with the wavelength sweep ranges of test and measurement equipment manufacturers. Unlike conventional swept optical sources, such as External Cavity Lasers, which are similar in nature to an unsynthesised R.F. voltage controlled oscillator, the AltoWave1300 is locked (synthesised) at each point during a sweep, allowing a new breed of optical measurements to be performed. This is analogous to the synthesised sources used in R.F and microwave test and measurement equipment.
