Ahrensburg, August 1, 2005 – With the introduction of a variety of innovative products, Basler Vision Components (Basler-VC) maintains its position as the industry's technical leader and invites visitors to the Vision 2005 show to take a ride into the future. As in past years, Basler's motto for the show will be reflected in a unique booth design. For this year’s show, the motto will be “Vision for the Future” and it demonstrates Basler’s leading role in adopting the newest technologies. To our customers, Basler-VC is the future-oriented, reliable partner for high-quality camera components.
Along with our well established line scan and area scan camera families, Basler will present several innovations. For example, our new intelligent camera, the Basler eXcite, will be available for live demonstrations in the show booth. The eXcite is an integration of two complex components, a top-quality digital camera and a complete, high-performance PC. These two components are combined in a very small housing. A 64 bit, 1 GHz MIPS processor with communications capabilities based on computer networking technology is the heart of Basler’s eXcite camera.
Basler’s years of experience in camera design and production are demonstrated by the eXcite’s high image quality. The camera is based on a CMOS sensor with VGA resolution and will be available in both monochrome and color. Different eXcite models are available with maximum frame rates ranging from 60 to 180 frames per second.
New members of our popular A600 family will also make an appearance at the Vision show. The A631f/fc and A641f/fc are based on 1.45 and 2 megapixel CCD sensors respectively. At full resolution, the A631 runs at nearly 19 frames per second (fps) and the A641 at 14 fps. With a housing size comparable to a typical analog camera, these new models represent another step forward in the “Analog Goes Digital” trend.
The A631 and A641 cameras are the first to include CCD sensors in an A600 style housing. As with many other Basler cameras, the maximum frame rate can be increased by using the area of interest (AOI) feature. Many new applications will be possible with these small, powerful, high-resolution cameras.
Visitors can expect Basler to present several other interesting innovations in the field of digital camera technology during the show. We look forward to seeing you at booth 511 in hall 4.0. Join us on our ride into the future! The Vision show will take place from November 8 to 10, 2005 in Stuttgart.
