Beamsplitters designed for use at a 45° angle of incidence in randomly polarized light
When using a beamsplitter in an optical system it is very important that all of the light which is incident upon the coating be either transmitted or reflected with a minimal loss due to absorption in the coating. Unlike metal beamsplitters, which have a large loss due to absorption, these beamsplitters are constructed of all dielectric, low-absorption materials. The resultant absorption is approximately 0.5% to 1.0%, depending upon the R/T ratio. All of the beamsplitters listed in this section are designed for use at a 45° angle of incidence in randomly polarized light. Custom beamsplitters are available for specific angles and polarization states, and will be quoted upon request. Please contact one of our technical sales representatives for assistance. To minimize any second surface reflections, all uncoated surfaces are broadband anti-reflected coated.
