The MicroBAM is a novel research and production instrument to monitor ultra-thin organic films (e.g. monolayers) at the air/water interface. With its excellent image quality and intermediate resolution, it is the ideal instrument for online control and visualization of morphological film parameters (e.g. homogeneity, stability, and domain structures) where the high resolution, variability and analytical capabilities of the EP³-BAM are not required. Typical applications of the MicroBAM include quality control of a monolayer during Langmuir-Blodgett film deposition, characterization of newly synthesized materials and contamination monitoring.
