Since 1985, Glass Fab has been a leader in the CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining of optical materials to precise tolerances. We are innovative in our fixturing and tooling which allows us to produce a wide variety of shapes and sizes with the fewest number of setups, which increases accuracy and productivity.We have machined light weighted mirror blanks, wind tunnel windows, vacuum fixtures, laser gyroscope blanks, holographic ring blanks.. just to name a few. With our 4 axis machine we can mill complex 3 dimensional shapes also.
Standard Tolerances are .004" -.010" on dimensions, and 10 - 30 minutes on angles. Extreme tolerances can be held to .0005" on dimensions, and 30 seconds on angles.
