The Clear-spin® rotor is totally self contained when sealed. Not even the motor spindle is in direct contact with the rotor interior. The hermetical seal guarantees against the contamination of the drive unit, body work and lab environment.

Radioactively hot rotors can be removed from service and fresh rotors brought into use at low cost.

Using the Clear-spin® as a central work station means that rotors can be designated for use with radioactive or biohazardous materials.

Rotors prepared in designated hot rooms can be brought out into the general lab environment for centrifugation and returned to the hot room before they are opened.

Some lab set-ups may not be able to justify a microcentrifuge exclusively for use in the hot room. Clear-spin¨ with its easily interchangeable, low cost hermetically sealed rotors means that the same centrifuge can be used in all areas. "Personal centrifuge" need only apply to the rotor and not the entire machine.
