The cold mirror is designed to separate heat from light. The visible spectrum is reflected (> 96%), while the infrared wavelengths are transmitted (> 80%). The cold mirror allows the use of a high intensity radiation source with heat sensitive materials such as film. The mirror optimized for 45 degrees. The coating can be applied to most optical substrates from the ultraviolet to the near infrared.
