Comitronic, a French specialist distributor of safety equipment, is launching the AMX5 CK - a new stand-alone safety switch with internal control, equipped with a locking device, which relies on a completely electronic process to function. This system embodies a new technological concept designed to replace conventional interlocking systems and has a wide range of applications, more particularly in the monitoring of dangerous zones.
Using innovative high-performance electronic technology, the new easy-to-use AMX5 CK switch is a stand-alone non-contact safety device, classified in Category 3 of the European EN954-1 Safety of Machinery standard, with electrical coded-key locking. This switch uses a unique, totally electronic process - the Acotom3 decoding system - which, unlike competing reed switch based systems, is completely tamper-proof.
Several applications are possible for the AMX5 CK. It is primarily intended to monitor the opening of doors of dangerous machines. It also includes an electrical coded-key locking function intended to monitor dangerous zones. This enables, for instance, the AMX5 CK to block the restarting of a machine if an access door is accidentally closed while the operator is inside. The new AMX5 CK safety switch can be used alone to lock a dangerous area electrically : the coded key is located on the receiver and can block the functioning of the switch.
This switch is composed of a transmitter and a receiver, each housed in a polycarbonate case, and is equipped with an M12 connector. The AMX5 CK has two NO safety lines (for ‘Normally Open’) and an auxiliary NC line (for ‘Normally Closed’). The switch can also be used with the BLOC C4CK key-protected module.
