Santa Clara, Calif., August 31, 2005 – The LaserCam HR from Coherent, Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) (Nasdaq: COHR) is a compact, high-resolution laser beam profiler, which uses a USB 2.0 camera to enable plug-and-play connectivity, eliminating the need for a frame grabber card in the host computer. The LaserCam HR features a 1.3-megapixel (1280 x 1024) sensor, which supports accurate characterization of CW and pulsed laser beams in the 0.26 to 6 mm diameter range, with spectral sensitivity from 300 to 1100 nm. A data acquisition rate of up to 27 Hz enables real-time beam profile monitoring for laser adjustment or process monitoring. LaserCam HR includes Coherent’s powerful BeamView software, which provides intuitive access to numerous profile viewing options, analysis functions, and data import/export formats. BeamView also can be easily configured for simplified pass/fail and alarm mode operation for automated production applications.

LaserCam HR is intended for both laboratory and production line environments. Its small size and USB 2.0 interface make it easy to integrate with other production test equipment, while its rapid data acquisition rate supports high-speed inspection and alignment applications. LaserCam HR is also fully compatible with Coherent’s comprehensive range of optical accessories, enabling tremendous operational flexibility.
