Satimage introduces SurfLab-3D, a system for scanning 3D surfaces which is simple and ultra-fast, based on profilometry and triangulation.

SurfLab-3D includes a profilometric measuring head (camera and light beam generator in a robust housing) which is mounted on a motion device. SurfLab-3D is designed to work in a workshop context - not necessarily in labs.

SurfLab-3D provides high-precision 3D scans of parts or objects of moderate size, by applying the triangulation principle to the visible deformation of a light line projected on the surface. SurfLab-3D gathers the successive profiles that it reads into the 3D surface.

Satimage's unique light beam generator suppresses any texture effect.

SurfLab-3D reads the surface in seconds and it displays on screen a realistic rendition of the surface, that you can zoom and rotate with the mouse, and that you can further explore with various tools that SurfLab-3D provides (e.g. cross-sections).

SurfLab-3D's powerful software engine allows programming controls both on the profiles or on the surface itself (for instance can check the curvature of the surface).
