The CryoTherm™ Variable Temperature Cell permits analysis of liquids and solids over a temperature range of -190°C to +250°C with a stability better than 0.1°C. Analytical applications for the CryoTherm™ cell include study of absorption bands at low temperature, investigation of crystallinity, polymerization, phase transition and reaction kinetics.
The optional solids sample holder (0007-4790) will hold samples ranging in size from 12mm to 32mm in diameter and from a few microns up to 8mm thick. Samples are held in place by means of three sets of pressure plates (supplied) which can be used in various combinations to hold virtually any size sample that falls in the range. An optional exchange gas solids sample holder (0007-4764) is available, which permits a gas to completely surround a solid sample. The gas is introduced and circulated through the two ports located in the vacuum chamber top plate that are also used for liquid flow tubes during flowing liquid sampling. The exchange gas cell is gold plated to minimize corrosion and cross contamination.
