Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) is a method of retrieval of column abunadancies of atmospheric trace-species from measurements of electromagnetic radiation in a specified spectral interval. The retrieved DOAS quantity is derived from two absorption spectra: one in which the light has passed through little of the absorber in question and one in which the light has passed though a large amount of the absorber. Detects and measures concentrations of 38 gases with high accuracy and sensitivity at the level of units of ppbv
¾ Single measurement time is from 30 sec to 3 min, SIMULTANEOUSLY measures up to 33 gases
¾ Optical method of measurements (spectrum analysis) does not require air sampling and chemical reagents
¾ Small passive reflector (which does not require power supply and maintenance) is placed 20-200 м away from the telescope and the light source; the data are processed in the analyzer and shown on a display of the computer as tables and charts.
¾ DOAS-M1 measures averaged along the path concentrations of gases, that are transported from pollution sources to residential areas
¾ DOAS-M1 is easy to use in mobile systems (weight of the telescope is 22 kg, analyzer – 8kg, reflector- 0.3 kg)
¾ DOAS-M1 can be used in ecological monitoring systems for continuous automated real-time measurements; continuous operating time depends on service time of the interchangeable xenon lamp (up to 2 months
