Working with materials including BK-7 glass and silica, Optical Surfaces Ltd. is able to supply high precision large window optics up to 600mm in diameter.

Using proprietary production technologies and the knowledge and skill of master optics craftsmen Optical Surfaces has built a reputation as a leading supplier of larger diameter windows for high power laser, astronomy and aeronautic applications.

Where high power laser ablation has mobilised material Optisurf transparent debris shields are widely used to protect the final lens that focuses laser energy onto the targets. Manufacturing debris shields combines the dual demands of producing a precision wavefront (typically lambda/5 to lambda/10) accuracy on a flexible window with a high diameter to thickness ratio. A recently supplied debris shield was of typical specifications, 372mm diameter and 10mm thick, providing an ultra flexible substrate.

In addition the company is experienced in producing large diameter windows for telescope closures and aerial surveillance/reconnaissance applications. Production approved to ISO 9001-2000 and with all optics interferometrically tested before shipping the quality of large flexible window optics from Optical Surfaces Ltd. is assured.
