With the growing obsolescence of large CRT tubes, and the vulnerability of LCD and plasma screens to temperature and shock, the ELCAN Digital Display has provided a rugged reliable solution for large format displays. The ELCAN Digital Display uses the Texas Instrument Digital Light Processing (DPL) chip that is inherently more reliable and rugged than CRT’s and their replacement alternative. A leading example of this is the CLADS displays for the AWACS airborne reconnaissance network. The innate flexibility of the DLP chip allows the design and manufacture of Display sizes from 13 inches to 55 inches as well as tiled displays
