"The Megatron digital photometers (also known as: lightmeters, illiminance meters, luxmeters, brightness meters, white light meters)are portable lightweight instruments versatile enough to measure street and security lighting, office and factory lighting, flood lighting, daylight and sunlight. The DL3-5266 has been specially developed to satisfy the requirements of British Standard Code of Practice BS5266 Part 1 for Emergency Lighting. The accuracy and reliability of the meters make them suitable for such people as conservationists, lighting engineers, and those concerned with animal husbandry, for checking and developing systems in museums and galleries, sports stadiums, offices, hospitals, defence establishment, workshops, breeding and hatching areas

All the DL and DA photometers use a TYPE M photocell in a cosine correcting mount. As the type M is a colour correct cell, correction factors are not needed - see the Graph and Table of Spectral Response. The DL3 and DL5 photometers use a flat mount which also allows these instruments to be used for luminance measurements from internally lit signs, VDT screens and lighting fittings."
