The new UVFQ series of compact DPSS lasers manufactured in the UK by ElforLight, Daventry, have been specifically designed to replace Nitrogen lasers used primarily in MALDI systems and in other analytical instruments now demanding higher repetition short laser pulses of low energy ultra-violet laser light.

The UVFQ generates 100µJ pulse energies at 355nm with repetition rates up to 10kHz and pulse widths <4ns. Excellent beam quality, TEM00 with M2<1.2, solidstate reliability, longevity and optical fibre coupled pump laser diodes offer multiple real advantages to the user compared to older gas laser technology.
Timing jitter is <1nS and pulse to pulse stability better than +/- 5%
