The new EZ1 Advanced supersedes the highly successful BioRobot EZ1. The improved workstation has new features that enable effortless data management and provide secure user environments. For increased efficiency and convenience, multiple EZ1 Advanced workstations can be connected to an external PC, delivering the flexibility to deal with varying sample preparation requirements.



The EZ1 Advanced enables nucleic acid purification from a wide range of samples relevant for genetic identity testing and forensics, biomedical research, and gene expression and is highly suited for low- to medium-throughput laboratories handling urgent samples, requiring versatile nucleic acid purification for daily testing, or performing long-term research projects. In Europe, a CE-IVD-marked instrument for in vitro diagnostics is available.



Principle



Automated sample preparation enables efficient, standardized purification of nucleic acids. Manual handling of potentially infectious samples is minimized, ensuring safety to the user and reliable processing of samples.



The EZ1 Advanced uses proven EZ1 Kits for purification of DNA, RNA, and viral nucleic acids from a wide range of starting materials. Purified nucleic acids are ready for immediate use in downstream applications. The combination of easy-to-use workstation, with error-free protocol selection and worktable setup, and prefilled, sealed reagent cartridges makes nucleic acid purification easy (see figure "Three simple steps"). Up to 4 EZ1 Advanced instruments can be connected to an external computer, expanding sample throughput to 1-24 samples per run (see figure "Flexible throughput").
