FANUC made its Absolute αiCZ Sensor, an encoder for SYNCHRONOUS BUILT-IN SERVO MOTOR, more compact , more accurate and easier to maintain.

Features:
FANUC decreases the thickness of the sensor unit by 50% in axial direction, compared to the previous models. The detector circuit unit is downsized by 70% in volume, compared to the previous models. These resulted in compact rotary axes.
Improvements made in its sensor gear and detector circuit enhance its accuracy to ±2 seconds (in the case of αiCZ sensor 1024.)
Ease-of-maintenance is increased by allowing to change sensor heads and detector circuit independently.
A combination of the Absolute αiCZ sensor and the SYNCHRONOUS BUILT-IN SERVO MOTOR DiS series helps realize cost effective and high-accuracy rotary axes.
