ESA Biosciences Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of analytical instruments for the life science, clinical diagnostic and pharmaceutical industries, has reported an enthusiastic reception from attendees at the recent HPLC 2005 meeting to its CORONA Charged Aerosol Detector - a new 'Universal' HPLC detector.

Reflecting on the meeting, Eddie Goodall (General Manager - Europe) commented 'around 15% of all delegates made the time to visit our stand, many to review the Corona CAD to see and discuss how our revolutionary HPLC detector reliably measures compounds, independent of molecular structure, to low nanogram levels'. He added 'we are naturally pleased that a large proportion of the visitors requested further information and copies of the poster and conference presentations made at the event'.

Charged Aerosol Detection is a robust HPLC detection technology that delivers advanced capabilities of interest to every HPLC user-lab. Besides excellent sensitivity, the Corona CAD shows consistent inter-analyte response independent of chemical structure, enabling quantitation across a range that exceeds four orders of magnitude. This first, real universal detector can also effectively analyse a wide diversity of chemical structures and classes. Corona CAD's revolutionary technology is applicable for measuring virtually any non- or semi-volatile compound such as drug compounds, carbohydrates, steroids, proteins, lipids, peptides and sugars.
