Fiber coupled 1080nm Laser Diode

Germany -- Berlin, Lumics a manufacturer of pump laser modules and laser chips announced the availability of the LU1064M150 laser modules with pulse power up to 1 W peak power (pulse conditions: 10kHz / 0,2 µsec).

Lumics introduces this laser in a cooled low profile 14-pin butterfly package coupled with high index single mode fiber. The device is also available with a fiber Bragg grating for wavelength stabilization.

The laser is designed for use in sensing and ranging systems such as atmospheric LIDAR and rangefinder systems. The new generation of high power modules allows a cost effective system design with enhanced performance.
The LU1064M150 includes a thermo electric cooler which is specified with max. current of 1.8A and max. voltage of 3.2V. The maximum operating current at pulsed condition is 1.5A with a very low forward voltage of about 1.8V. The threshold current is specified with typ. 55mA. The spectral width at Pop with FBG is max. 1nm (FWHM). The performance of the device is based on Lumics propriety chip technology which ensure very high reliability with a breakthrough in laser facet passivation.
