a pioneer in the optical components market, today announced it has reached a major milestone with the shipment of its 100,000th 4Gb/s optical transceiver in less than 9 months from first customer shipments. As one of the largest pure-play optical components companies, this achievement reaffirms Finisar's continued leadership position in the Fibre Channel market.

"One vendor shipping at these volumes indicates that the storage market is beginning its transition to 4Gb/s," stated Daryl Inniss, program director of RHK's, Inc. Communi-cation Components program.
