Catman® Easy aims to make a measurement engineer’s job far faster with its simple and intuitive operation and requires only 18 seconds to take measurements from opening the program. The product is intended mainly as an upgrade for all existing HBM MGC plus and Spider hardware and software users although it is equally suitavble for new users.

The software automatically recognises amplifiers, configures channels, defines measurement parameters and acquires and saves measurement data.

Catman® Easy automatically recognises TEDS transducers (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet). Once an amplifier is detected, the existing channels are connected and scanned for TEDS transducers which then automatically configure the amplifier.

A sensor database, comprising all HBM transducers and typical sensors such as thermocouples and PTs, is used to manually assign a transducer type to each measurement channel if TEDS transducers are not included in the system. This database can easily be modified and expanded by the end user to give greater flexibility.

Catman® Easy is provided with a Wizard that uses defined measurement parameters, such as sampling rate and potential triggers, to provide the user with a preset panel for displaying measured values. Alternatively, a user-defined panel can be quickly created and configured with a variety of instrument toolbar such as stripcharts, digital indicators, and bar-graph indicators.

Catman® Easy replaces the previous catman® Express and is part of the catman® Professional 5.0 suite. Existing catman® customers will only need an inexpensive update to benefit from catman® Easy.
