Gamma Scientific Unveils Precision Integrating Sphere
San Diego, Calif., February 2, 2003 – Gamma Scientific, a leading manufacturer of precision light measurement instruments, today unveiled the GS-IS12-TLS integrating sphere. Ideal for total luminous flux (lumens) and radiant flux (Watts) measurement of miniature and sub-miniature LEDs, and lamps emitting between 190- to 2700-nm, the GS-IS12-TLS lowers overall measurement uncertainty compared to typical integrating spheres.
Gamma Scientific configured the GS-IS12-TLS using design optimizations performed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). In particular, the input port is smaller than typical integrating spheres and baffles are used at NIST-recommended angles at both the input and output ports. This configuration minimizes the effect of off-angle shadows and changes in lamp position, thereby lowering the overall measurement uncertainty.
Designed for use with any Gamma Scientific photometer, radiometer or spectroradiometer, the GS-IS12-TLS integrating sphere is available with two different reflective coatings featuring slightly different characteristics. A variety of optional lamp sockets are also available to accommodate almost any miniature and sub-miniature light source.
Gamma Scientific is an optical radiation calibration laboratory and leading manufacturer of precision light measurement instruments, including photometers, colorimeters, laser eye safety power meters and various other optoelectronic devices.
