June 21, 2004 – Los Altos, CA – HanVision Co., Ltd. of Daejeon, Korea, announces the release of its HVDUO-5M, a one-piece digital color camera for acquisition of accurate, high-resolution color images in high-resolution still and real-time video modes. Incorporating the Foveon X3 FO18-50-F19A 4.5 megapixel CMOS direct image sensor, which detects full color at every pixel location, the HVDUO-5M camera provides true color images free of the artifacts generated by traditional sensors with color filter arrays.

The HVDUO-5M features 24-bit digital color output, real-time color processing, support for still and video sensor scan modes and a CameraLink interface. The HVDUO-5M camera is compatible with a wide range of C-mount optics and framegrabbers. It includes an automatic internal dark-frame shutter mechanism and controls for synchronized illuminators for flexibility in exposure control. The HVDUO-5M is well suited for industrial, scientific, medical and communications applications requiring high quality color images.

Features of the HVDUO-5M camera include:
• 4.5 million pixels in a 2268 x 1512 x 3 layer matrix with a 5.0 micron square pitch
• Single-shot or continuous acquisition with selectable exposure and external triggering
• Full-frame still-shot or rolling shutter acquisition up to 4 frames per second
• VGA acquisition at 30 Hz with selectable raster position
• Small size – only 58 x 58 x 52 mm including C-mount adapter

HVDUO-5M cameras are supplied with the HanVision Camera Control Tool (HCCT), a Windows®-based software
package providing interactive user control of all camera functions. The camera operates from 5 VDC power.

The HVDUO-5M camera list price is $3,900. OEM discounts are available. Delivery leadtime is 4-6 weeks ARO.
