Run your diode lasers within their rated parameters, and they can exhibit thousands of hours of reliable output. You can yield additional lifetime benefits when run at de-rated operation (at lesser drive currents, for example). On the flip side, operating diode lasers beyond rated levels can be detrimental to lifetime, and lead to failure.
Since diode arrays produce highly concentrated waste heat, take great care in the selection and quality of the packaging to ensure proper performance. CEO® can help you select or design a package to meet your particular needs.
Define requirements for your laser diodes keeping in mind their output characteristics are temperature dependent. Define your requirements to accommodate environments that the product might see in its real-world installation.
Minimize unnecessary costs by not over-specifying your laser diodes. Tight specifications and high costs tend to travel hand-in-hand. CEO® will work with you to ensure that our laser diodes meet your needs at a minimum system cost.
Avoid current spikes, ringing, reverse bias conditions and other damage by taking care in the design of drive electronics. CEO® can help you with a range of electronics suitable to the task of driving laser diode arrays, and can advise you in the proper handling of these devices.
