The IR-6416 Multi-Channel Laser Pulse Spectroscopy System incorporates 64 detector elements and 16 External inputs to provide 80 channels of high speed, low noise data acquisition from laser pulse events. This system coupled with a dispersion grating will produce laser pulsed infrared spectra from 2-20 um with laser pulse widths from 1 femtosecond to 2.5 microseconds. All channels are integrated and tracked simultaneously, and then digitized with a 16 Bit A/D converter and stored in FIFO memory. Our new LASPEC software downloads the FIFO memory to the host computer for analysis and conversion. 10 MHz data transfer speeds ensures no lost data. Individual Isolated input channels with Integrator. Each Channel provides Low Noise, Detector Compatible inputs with built-in bias, high Speed integrator and sample and hold circuitry. The 16 to 1 Multiplexer and 16-bit A/D Converter on each Amplifier board provide the necessary digitization and transfer of data to the Master Timing section for storage into memory. The IR-6416 LPS system is expandable to allow use with detector arrays from 16 to 1024 and more detector elements. The adjustable integration gate allows the user to tune the instrument to the pulse response to eliminate integrating the noise prior to, and after the pulse event, and avoiding unwanted interference signals and ringing. By varying the integration delay and width, the user can sample a specific section of a pulsed response, or the entire response. An integration width of as small as 54 ns and minimum delay of 30 ns allows for capture of very high speed, narrow width responses.
