These beamsplitters are nominally 50% reflective /50% transmissive and are offered in two basic types, ZnSe substrates for the 7-14µm range, and CaF2 for the 2.5-7µm range. Standard items are designed for random polarization; there will be some shifting in reflectivity for "S" and "P" polarized applications. For general purpose applications, most users will find these variances slight (5-10%) and the products quite useful. More demanding applications requiring precise optimization of reflectance values for specific angles of incidence and polarization states may require special products.
