A client approached us to design and construct prototypes for an environmental monitoring system that determines pathogens for on-line sensors to quantify bacterial counts during industrial processing. The goal was to improve the collection efficiency and uniformity as compared with the existing system that used a commercial camera zoom lens, which suffered from vignetting, distortion, and field flatness.
