The Half Bridge or LVDT inductive probes technology has been known for over 100 years and enables to offer a products range covering most of the needs in dimensional control. The inductive probes (five strokes available) are equipped with a connector compatible with the different display units of our product range. The forward stroke can be activated by a spring or by air pressure. A (P) suffix indicates a probe activated by air pressure. This type of probe enables to make compact and cheap automatic measurement systems. There are two different tip forces. Without any particular indication, the standard tip force is approximately 70 grams. A (T) prefix describes a probe with reduced tip force (Feather Touch): F = 30 grammes Orbit network: A high speed bus for probes - Metro When using inductive probes, the measurement functions and the signal management are independant, and consequently it is hard to match them. The Orbit Network Measurement System is bringing several important advanced functions in the high precision measurement field. The System comprises: - The probe itself, which can use several technologies (inductive, digital, linear encoders, etc..) - An electronic module permanently attached to the probe - A T-CON Connector to ensure the connection of the electronic module on the network - A calculation and display unit. Advantages of this system: - The display unit receives digital information from the probes. The transmitted signal is thus no longer damaged because of the cable length. The digital information is the same, whichever type of probe is used (inductive, linear encoder, etc.). The display unit is no longer devoted to a unique type of probe. It is so possible to choose the probe technology which will suit each measurement case on the best way. - The measurement and the signal management functions are grouped and matched. The probes errors can so be corrected and the probe is far more precise. Changing the probe is easier while precision is preserved. - All the probes are connected to the display unit with only one cable; wiring is thus far easier.
