Stork Veco ink-jet market customers, vary their use of supplied orifice plates (nozzle plates), depending on the specified print head application. These applications are used for a variety of industrial applications, such as: Text and Bar Codes onto shipping cartons, printing addresses and bar codes to mail pieces and coding checks. Other types of print head industrial applications are for food packaging, and pharmaceutical labelling.
Some of the commercial print head applications are for high end resolution printing and process color capability. End uses of this type of high end printing capability are for company invoices, brochures and product specification sheets, and large mural posters for advertising in areas such as movie theatres and shopping mails.
Stork Veco also has capability to provide protective coatings, such as gold or phosphorous nickel, to the orifice plate. This is critical in print head applications where the ink passing through the holes of the orifice plate is very corrosive. The coating prevents orifice plate damage and print head failure.
