P&P Optica can supply either round or multi-faced integrating or mixing rods. In some applications where just the transmission of light is required, round rods can guide the light with minimal losses. However, if more uniform mixing is required, square or other cross-section rods can be used to provide mixing of light through multiple internal reflections. Such rods can be used to uniformize light from a non-uniform source such as a lamp or a multi-fiber bundle.

The rods provided by P&P Optica are manufactured to exacting tolerances. We can provide components with customized cross-sections, material, coating and required surface quality. In order to minimize losses and preserve light mixing properties all bevels are kept at a minimum. Optical quality polishing can be applied to all or selected faces of each rod.
