AXIOMTEK, an Associate Member of the Intel Communications Alliance (ICA), a community of communications and embedded developers and solution providers, is proud to launch a network application board, the SBC8A818. This board comes with a Socket 479 low power Intel® Pentium® M and Intel® Celeron® M processors and integrated the most updated Intel® 3100 chipset and built-in a PCI-express interfaces. It makes the platform offered a more reliable and stable processing over previous platforms.

AXIOMTEK is a leading server appliance hardware platform development and manufacturing partner for software solutions and fine appliance product providers. The network application board SBC8A818 fulfills high performance system configuration demands in network applications, industrial server appliances, or other network attachment storage appliances with advanced storage features. Available with six Gigabit Ethernet ports thru an advanced PCI Express interface, the embedded board supports fail-over, load sharing and load balancing functions for critical network environments. No only the RJ-45 Ethernet connector, this network application board also provided the Mini-GBIC Fiber interface which can be selected upon customer’s requirement. System memory can support up to 4GB of four DDR II DIMM sockets with register and ECC memory.

The SBC8A818 built-in the most updated Intel® 3100 single integrated chipset which is an integrated system controller with an ECC memory solution in combination with high performance, low power processor to enable SBC8A818 designs in the storage, wireless, wire-line and security market segments. The board can handle many critical access requirements internally.

This network application board supports a LAN-bypass feature for abnormal status. It supports different by-pass levels with this feature such as power, BIOS boot, OS and application program failures. In order to provide the best network performance and best utilization, the SBC8A818 has powerful storage interface, multiple SATA-150 channels are easily compatible with embedded Operating Systems and third-party application programs through DOM (Disk on Module) or CompactFlashTM. One Mini-PCI slot is available for expansion. And one PCI-X 64-bit/133MHz slot is optional for customer’s selection. The SBC8A818 can operate in environments from 0¢X C (-32¢X F) to 60¢XC (140¢XF).

I/O features include RS-232, ATA-100, six SATA I channels and two USB 2.0 ports. The SBC8A818 also offers an optional powerful enclosure, which features management functions, including BIOS redirection to console port and more. These extra features have been implemented so users can keep and manage their data easily.

The SBC8A818 will be available near the end of August, 2006.
