Optarius offers a range of variable aperture Iris Diaphragms. These are useful to control the amount of light transmitted by an optical system. Control of aperture is easily accomplished by means of a variable diameter iris diaphragm. Overlapping thin steel blades restrict the diameter of an optical component. The blades are contained in a metal housing and a protruding lever is used to adjust the iris aperture. Standard irises are available with maximum apertures ranging from 5 to 224 mm.
