At the recent Milipol 2003 exhibition in Le Bourget (France), CEDIP Infrared Systems (www.cedip-infrared.com) generated considerable interest from visitors who were able to see and discuss its latest products from its specialist range of equipment for Surveillance, Weapon Sights, UAV and IR Night Vision systems.

At the meeting CEDIP introduced the new JADE Long Range Camera for surveillance and tracking applications, based upon its advanced 320 x 240 MWIR Focal Plane Array detector. Incorporating camera and motorised optics in a compact housing the new system shows great utility for remote outdoor surveillance and tracking applications.

Benefiting from the latest uncooled microbolometer focal plane array technology, operating in the 8-12 µm waveband, CEDIP's handheld RUBY night vision camera generated considerable interest. Launched a few months ago the high performance night vision camera uses advanced image processing algorithms to provide leading-edge sharp and clear images. Using a focal plane array of 320x240 pixels the RUBY camera offers a thermal sensitivity of less than 80mK meaning that an intruder can be detected at a typical range of 1 Km. Small and lightweight in design the operational utility of the RUBY is also aided by binocular viewing and the high brightness and contrast of the IR image display.

Positive customer reaction was also received for the JADE UC camera. Packaged in a sealed unit the new JADE UC offers IP54 standard protection against the ingress of rain and humidity. This makes it the perfect IR camera for outdoor surveillance applications.
