JENOPTIK unique-mode GmbH’s integration into JENOPTIK Laserdiode GmbH will be completed in August. All activities of the company from Jena, which has fifteen employees and was acquired by Jenoptik in 2006, will be consolidated into JENOPTIK Laserdiode GmbH.

With the merger, Jenoptik Laserdiode strengthens its proficiency in the fiber coupling field. Jenoptik unique-mode specializes in developing and producing micro-optic systems, particularly diode-laser systems with micro-optical beam shaping. Their comprehensive know-how in micro-optics, micro-system technology and micro-assembly strengthens Jenoptik Laserdiode’s fiber-coupling area. With the integration, numerous synergies—stemming from the merging of production, development and sales departments—will be taken advantage of even more than previously.

All customers will profit directly from the combining of the two businesses and the resulting expansion of expertise in systems. Jenoptik unique-mode’s customers, who will now be supplied by Jenoptik Laserdiode, will gain from the usage of high-efficiency diode-laser bars in products as well as from the thoroughness of the quality management system of Jenoptik Laserdiode, which is reflected in the superiority of their diode lasers.

The customers of Jenoptik Laserdiode can choose from a wider product array, which now includes high-brightness diode lasers and systems. With this, Jenoptik Laserdiode offers a multitude of high quality diode lasers and systems including fiber coupling for diverse applications in industry, medicine as well as research and development.

The number of employees at Jenoptik Laserdiode has grown to about one hundred with the consolidation of unique-mode. A company of the Laser & Optic division, Jenoptik Laserdiode has belonged to the Jenoptik Group since 1993.
