Prior Scientific offers programmable Joysticks for easy control of the OptiScan and ProScan microscope automation systems. Each joystick features two “hot keys” that are preset to adjust the speed with which a scanning stage and automatic focus moves.
These buttons are also programmable meaning that their functions can quickly and easily be reassigned to commands that the end user requires more regularly. As an example one could be programmed to move the stage one field in the X direction and the other one field in the Y direction. A specimen could be screened by simply stepping one field at a time by clicking the two hot keys.
Other options include opening and closing shutters, moving a filter wheel position or perhaps moving the stage to a home position. The combinations are many and varied thanks to the fact that, unlike other suppliers, Prior Scientific designs and manufactures its own control electronics providing unmatched flexibility.
