R. A. RODRIGUEZ EXTENDS ITS KAYDON RANGE

The Kaydon brand of thin section bearings have been synonymous with R. A. Rodriguez for many years and it is largely based on the success of this relationship that the Letchworth based engineering company has now been selected to represent the interests of Kaydon Ring and Seal in the UK.

Although piston and sealing rings are relatively inexpensive parts of a system, their efficient performance is critical. Since the 1940s, Kaydon Ring and Seal has built an enviable reputation for exceptional product reliability.

Backed by over 100 years of material development experience, Kaydon’s mechanical and metallurgical laboratories are constantly refining the product range. New face geometries, new materials, new combination designs are regularly introduced to keep pace with new performance demands.

Kaydon is unique in that it undertakes the entire manufacture of its ring products itself, from casting through to finishing. Not only does this ensure excellent quality control but also allows the company to accommodate with ease, customers’ special design requirements. Low temperature sealing is a Kaydon speciality.

Kaydon Ring and Seal designs and produces power piston rings for locomotive OEMs supplying the world’s major railways and is the industry source for power rings for all of the reciprocating compressors used in the natural gas and petrochemical industries. It is also a major supplier to both commercial aviation and military aircraft manufacturers for applications involving turbine engines, valves, environmental control units, auxiliary power units and actuators.
